The three main ministry goals of Youth With A Mission:
CONVEY the message of Christ through our Evangelism Ministry
Many people in El Salvador know the name of Jesus, but they don’t know what it means to have a life that is different because of a relationship with Him.
CHANGE lives through our Training Ministry
We know that people’s lives can change as they not only follow Christ but learn how to serve Him and take His message into the world.
CARE with compassion through our Mercy Ministry
A big part of Jesus’ ministry on earth focused on meeting the needs of those marginalized by society included the orphaned, homeless, poor, sick, and needy.

Ministries
Kids at Risk
Kids at risk are those who live in a situation that puts them at a high risk for entering a life of crime and poverty. Many kids in these situations end up joining a street gang. We aim to reach these children before they make a decision to enter this lifestyle. We work in several government run children’s centers in San Salvador with the goal of developing relationships with these children and giving them options for a better life.
The Lighthouse
We call our homeless ministry The Lighthouse because we want to be a light in the darkness of the lives of those who live on the streets, trapped by poverty and addictions. Right now we meet weekly with those who live on the streets to provide a safe place to take a shower, have a hot meal, and hear a reflection from God’s Word. We also are exploring ways to reach the prostitutes who work on the streets around our base as they are also trapped in a life of darkness and hopelessness.
Gerardo Barrios
Gerardo Barrios is a squatter’s community. Those who live in this community live in deep poverty. They have lost their homes as a result of natural disasters, or because they couldn’t pay their rent. As a base, we have adopted this community. There are gangs involved in this community as well and our ministry is geared towards 6-12 year olds with the aim of introducing them to Jesus Christ and discipling them before they enter the gang lifestyle.
Feeding the Homeless
Several times a month we make a distribute meals to the men, women, and children living on the streets of San Salvador.
Supporting Local Churches
We have a great desire to come alongside and strengthen the local Church in El Salvador. We continue to work with local churches in the areas of evangelism, training, and one time projects.
Impacting the Schools of El Salvador
There are many open doors in the schools in El Salvador. We are able to share testimonies and dramas with the students that present morals and values for leading a healthy, productive lifestyle. Many times, we are also able to share the Gospel with these students.
